Academic Activities and Policy Workshops

Quarterly Macroeconomic Review and Forecast

Since its inception in 2005, CCWE has organized a quarterly seminar for the review and forecast of China’s current macroeconomic status and future trends by top-tier researchers, experts and government officials. The seminar series focuses on academic studies and policy impact. It has been well received and highly regarded. In 2008, the seminar series was dedicated to China’s 30 years of reform and opening-up. The forums are incorporated with CCWE quarterly economic reviews and forecasts to explore and discuss how China grows its economy in the dynamic context of reform and liberalization with the outside world. Forum topics cover a range of China’s social, economic and financial issues. Speakers and panelists include a good mix of first-rank researchers, government officials and business leaders. The topics of seminars in 2008 included:

The Global Financial Crisis and China

China’s Reform and Open-up under the Changing International Environment

Fluctuations in Economic Performance and Institutional Transformation

Thirty Years of Reform and Open-up: Transformation of Thinking and Thoughts in China
